Hello! Amidst your search for a Highland family or newborn photographer, I’m so glad you came across my page. Highland is close to some of my favorite areas to photograph. The city is perfectly tucked into the foothills with views of mountains all over. The natural landscape has beautiful plants that add well to any family photos. As a bonus, Highland is right next to American Fork Canyon which has some breathtaking areas to capture family photos.
There are three main spots I’ve photographed near Highland and I’m always looking for more options. Lambert park is one of my favorites (see photo below). Most people come to Lambert park for the poppies that bloom but there are so many other areas that are absolutely beautiful to photograph. Another spot is Highland Glen Park. While I don’t normally offer this option to my clients because of how crowded it gets, it is still an option when you want a more manicured look. The third spot is by the rodeo grounds. This area has some beautiful flowers mid May that, mixed with the greenery, make for some stunning photos.
My philosophy with family photos is to have sessions be naturally authentic. Too many photographers either stage photos so all you’re doing is looking and smiling without showing any real connection. Or they go to the opposite end and try poses that are cheesy and awkward trying to get a candid feel. I use prompts that not only bring out your family’s natural emotions, but that help you have a fun time while taking your pictures. No more grumpy dads or crying kids that can’t wait to be done. Your family photos will be uniquely you with the added bonus of having my artful eye make them beautiful 😉
Every family session comes with a location guide. I’ve scouted many beautiful spots in the area for you to pick from. I also deliver a session guide which goes over so many tips to help your family look amazing as well as help the session run smoothly.

I love photographing lifestyle newborn sessions. There is something so sacred and sweet about bringing a new little baby into your home to join your family. Lifestyle sessions are more candid and meant to document these sweet moments and feelings of having a new little baby.
Posed newborns, on the other hand, are usually meant to document the baby by themselves in various positions and backgrounds. It’s important to know what you’re looking for when you are choosing a newborn photographer.
I think having sessions with the whole family at home are much more genuine than having just your baby in a few costumes or wraps. It really captures something you’d want to cherish for years.
While I do focus on lifestyle photos during newborn sessions, I have recently started including a couple wrapped photos of the newborn as well.
